Silence/Absence

I was lucky enough to take part in this live exhibition in September 2019. A group of artists spent the day working in an empty unit in Broadstreet Mall in Reading. This gave me an opportunity to explore what silence (and noise) means to me and produce some art based on this.
I find the modern urban world unnecessarily noisy after my childhood in the countryside. Traffic, constant music, sirens, announcements and mobile phones interrupt our lives, turning silence into a precious commodity.
